Stop When Medicine Is Mentioned
About the Play
“I was never late for you; life simply failed to notice that you had arrived too early.”
After losing his wife to cancer, Ömer is admitted to a clinic as his mental state deteriorates. There he builds a time machine. Looking for someone to send on a journey through history, he finds Ragıp, a greedy, womanizing hospital employee. Ömer straps him into the machine and sends him into the past. Ragıp meets shamans, Hippocrates, Kösem Sultan, Florence Nightingale, Sigmund Freud, Hitler, and other historical figures. Chasing gold and money everywhere he goes, he is disappointed every time…
On this comic journey, the audience encounters milestones in medicine and meets important figures whose names are familiar even if their stories are not… Ömer’s wife died while he was reading her a story, leaving it unfinished. His only purpose now is to build a time machine, return to the past, and finish that story…
