Sevilay Türedi Durmuş

A member of the Board of Directors at İzmir Pier Sahne and an actor in both the main adult ensemble and children's productions, Sevilay Türedi Durmuş has built a lasting bond with the stage over a journey that began 14 years ago and continues today with the excitement of the very first day. She began doing theater while working as a teacher after graduating from the Faculty of Education.

Throughout her acting journey, Durmuş received acting training at various institutions, including Istanbul Büyükçekmece Municipality and Kadıköy Municipality, as well as from respected theater masters in the field. She reinforced the knowledge and experience she gained during this process with various documents and certificates. Over the years, she worked as an actor both within municipal organizations and in private theaters, finding a place for herself on different stages, in different characters and narratives.

In addition to acting, Durmuş has undertaken various directing projects, giving her the opportunity to experience different aspects of the performing arts and engage with another side of the creative process. She has also continued to work on the expressive power of voice, breath and speech through diction and broadcasting training in a studio environment, obtaining various qualifications and certificates in these fields.

Having brought so many different characters to life that even she finds it difficult to remember the exact number, Durmuş has come to see theater as far more than a job or a pursuit. The stage has become a place where she feels most free, most authentic and happiest—a space where, while touching other lives, she also rediscovers her own story.

After 14 years, Durmuş continues to make theater with an undiminished passion and an excitement that blossoms anew each time. She carries on her stage journey across a broad repertoire ranging from adult productions to children's plays, building a new world with every character, learning again with every performance and continuing to meet the audience in a shared emotion.

Because for some people, the stage is not simply a place they step onto; it is where they find themselves most fully.
