Biography
Burcu Bahçeci's theater journey, whose first contact with the stage began in primary school, continued throughout middle and high school and gradually grew from a pursuit into an indispensable part of her life.
Alongside her interest in the performing arts, where words, body and movement come together to create other worlds, she took part as a dancer in folk dance ensembles during middle school and university, experiencing how rhythm, the body and collective creation find expression on stage. The discipline and movement memory she gained through folk dance remain important building blocks of her acting journey today.
Bahçeci, who works professionally as a teacher, continues on her path with an understanding that does not separate teaching from learning and with a belief that each new experience opens a different window onto the person and the artist. Driven by this curiosity and desire to create, she returned to the stage after a period away and began working as an actor with Tiyatro Arkadaş.
Her path then crossed with Pier Sahne, where for nearly three years she has taken on various responsibilities as an actor, board member and choreographer. In addition to acting, she continues her choreography work out of an interest in the power of movement and the body within storytelling; she sees the stage not merely as a performance space, but as a living place where people can create, discover and transform together.
For Burcu Bahçeci, who still steps onto the stage with the curiosity of her first day, theater is a long journey where learning never ends, a different person is discovered in every character and another world in every play. And on this journey, she continues to teach, learn, create and return to the stage again and again.
